If the PAN card is not provided, the bank account will be blocked within 24 hours; clicking on the links will lead to trouble

For the past few days, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) account holders have been receiving messages stating that their bank accounts will be blocked within 24 hours if PAN card details are not updated. The message, along with a link to a scam website, is being sent to the mobile phones of account holders. However, the Press Information Bureau has issued a warning stating that such messages are fake.

This is a phishing scam aimed at stealing users' personal information, such as passwords, bank details, and credit card numbers. Fraudsters use emails and SMS that appear to be from familiar websites to carry out this scam. Clicking on such links or providing personal information increases the risk of falling into their trap. India Post authorities also advised users to remain vigilant. They added that India Post does not send such messages.
