'Project Rebirth'; International award for students from Dubai

Two students in Dubai have developed an innovative AI technology designed to help save passengers’ lives in situations where plane crashes are unavoidable. Named “Project Rebirth,” this system automatically deploys large airbags on the exterior of the aircraft in the event of an accident that cannot be predicted in advance. Experts believe this invention could open the door to major changes in aviation safety.

The minds behind the project are Dubai-based students Eshel Waseem and Dharshan Srinivasan. They were inspired to develop the idea after the tragic Air India crash in 2025. The main aim of the project is to reduce the impact of plane crashes and thereby minimize damage to both passengers and the aircraft.

The invention has been submitted for the prestigious James Dyson Award, and experts assess that it could play a crucial role in the future of aviation safety.
