Islamabad, May 12
A couple was killed on Tuesday in the suburbs of Lahore in Pakistan in what appears to be an incident of honour killing, media reported.

According to police, Tahir, a resident of Patoki, came to meet a girl in Chohang area of Punjab province where the father and other relatives of the girl shot dead both the boy and the girl after finding them together, Geo News reported.

Police said the father of the girl and his two accomplices have been arrested while the gun used in the killings has also been seized.

Last year in May, a pregnant woman was stoned to death by her own family in front of a high court for marrying against their wishes, sparking international outrage.

Nearly 20 members of the woman's family, including her father and brothers, attacked her and her husband with batons and bricks in broad daylight before a crowd of onlookers in a a case of honour killing.
