Shooting kills 3, injuries 2 in US

Three people were killed and two others were wounded in a shooting in downtown Lawrence, US state of Kansas, authorities said on Sunday.
Police officers were near the area of 11th and Massachusetts Street when multiple gunshots were heard at approximately 1.39 a.m., Laurence Police Department said in a press release, Xinhua reported.
At the scene, they found a large crowd and five people who had been shot.
Three of the victims, two men and one woman, died of fatal injuries, while two others were being treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.
Police are seeking assistance in identifying the suspect involved as an investigation is underway.
