Metro police investigate shooting at East Savannah gas station(WTOC Staff)

Sep 26, 2016 04:22 PM : SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A shooting at a Savannah gas station early Monday morning is under investigation. 

Officials say a man was shot at approximately 4 a.m. at a gas station in the 2000 block of Skidaway Road during an attempted armed robbery. Metro officers responded and found Dileep Madappallil, 37, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Detectives believe the suspect was a black male suspect with short hair. He wore a black shirt and a purple mask on his face during the incident.

He is aMalayalee from Palai   and an American citizen.   But he don't have no relatives in us. He used to work with our National Committee member Josemon Thathamkulam  long time ago and he been contacted by the police. Last two days he did best he can  and Indian  consulate already involved on this matter. He is in a bad condition went through a lot of surgeries.
