Sensex plunges 377 points in early session
Mumbai, Aug 21 A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday plunged 377.30 points or 1.37 percent during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also plummeted 120.10 points or 1.43 percent and was trading at 8252.65 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,440.10 points, was trading at 27,230.52 points (at 9.19 a.m.) in the early session, down 377.30 points or 1.37 percent from the previous day's close at 27,607.82 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,442.82 points and a low of 27,172.41 points in the trade so far.
